Coordination
Children FIRST Therapy provides Resource Coordination to all the families in our program. Our educated and experienced Family Resource Coordination (FRC) staff are a personal support system and liaison for our families. They help families understand and access support resources for their child. FRC’s assist families with completing and filing the necessary paperwork to access services and treatment.
Meet Our FRC's
Shannon Hughes
Shannon Hughes is the Family Resource Coordinator for Children First Therapy. After attending Eastern Washington University, she graduated with a BA in Elementary Education; major in Reading and minor in Special Education.
She completed her Masters in Educational Leadership at Concordia University of Portland, and Administration Credentials at Whitworth University.
Shannon comes to us after teaching Middle School for 12 years in a rural school. She enjoys spending time with her family, coaching volleyball, and baking all sorts of treats.

Mary Hughes
Mary Hughes loves being Family Resource Coordinator at Children First Therapy. Born and raised in Spokane, she is a graduate of Central Valley High School and Spokane Community College. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Eastern Washington University and earned her Master of Arts in Education at Gonzaga University. She enjoyed volunteering in the classrooms and throughout the school during her own children’s elementary years. Mary currently lives in Spokane Valley with her husband, their two children and two cats. She loves going to plays, is an avid reader and has found much joy in being a Little Free Library steward for the past few years. During the summer, you’ll find her swimming, camping and traveling with her family.
Geri Gaddy
Geri Gaddy is a Special Education teacher and Family Resource Coordinator.
She holds a Washington teaching credential in Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. She earned her Bachelors from EWU and her Masters in Teaching from Whitworth University.
Geri has over ten years experience teaching preschool through eighth grade special education in the public school setting. She’s a passionate advocate for children and families.
She was born and raised in Spokane. She lived in Phoenix for three years while teaching with Teach for America and returned home to build her family. She has a five year old daughter and stays busy with her seasonal activities. Outside of work, Geri loves to craft, read, and do home improvement projects.
